Torremolinos Half Marathon
About this race
Kick off the running year on the palm-lined promenade of the Costa del Sol. The Torremolinos Half is a flat, fast, PB-friendly course that hugs the Mediterranean, with a lively local crowd and mild February sunshine — the perfect antidote to a British winter.
The race
The Media Maratón Ciudad de Torremolinos has grown into one of Andalucía's most popular winter halves, drawing around 2,500 runners from across Spain and northern Europe. It is chip-timed, IAAF-measured and known for its friendly, festival-like atmosphere — bag drop, changing tents and post-race refreshments are all on the seafront steps from the finish.
The course
A single loop that starts and finishes on Paseo Marítimo, running west along the promenade towards La Carihuela fishing village before turning back and heading east past Bajondillo Beach and around the marina at Puerto Marina Benalmádena. The route is almost entirely flat — one small ramp off the promenade around 9 km is the only meaningful lump. Tarmac and hard-packed promenade, closed to traffic throughout.
