Palma Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K
About this race
Whether you're chasing your first marathon, a half PB or a fun 10K, Palma has something for everyone. The course sweeps along the bay, past the iconic La Seu cathedral and back through the old town — all under warm October sunshine.
The race
The Zafiro Palma Marathon has been staged in the Bay of Palma every October since 2005. Marathon, half marathon and 10K set off from Parc de la Mar in the morning, with a small kids' race the day before. It's one of the flattest marathons in Europe and a popular choice for first-timers and Boston-chasers alike.
The course
All three distances share the same seafront corridor between Portixol and the Cathedral, with the marathon extending west along Avenida Gabriel Roca towards Cala Major and back. Two shallow climbs on the western section but nothing to derail pacing. Fast, wide, closed roads throughout.

The destination
Palma's old quarter — La Lonja, Santa Catalina, the Arab baths, Passeig del Born — is best explored on foot the day before. La Seu cathedral, right at the finish, is a must-see, and the nearby Es Baluard modern-art museum has one of the best terraces in the Balearics.
Climate & race-day weather
Palma in October is essentially an extended summer: 16°C at the start, high of 24°C by early afternoon, sea temperature still around 22°C. Wear sunscreen, drink at every station.
Getting there
Palma (PMI) is a 15-minute taxi from the start line and has direct flights from more than 20 UK and Irish airports. The airport has an efficient EMT bus (line 1) direct to the seafront hotels.
